Centre Maranata is pleased to offer a specialized training session for volunteers and board members focused on facilitating culturally adaptive positive parenting workshops for newcomer and immigrant families in Canada.
This training program is designed to equip participants with practical knowledge, cultural awareness, and facilitation skills needed to effectively support newcomer families through positive parenting initiatives.
Participants will explore positive parenting principles, understand challenges commonly faced by newcomer families, and learn how to create inclusive and engaging workshop environments that respect diverse cultural backgrounds.
The session will also cover communication techniques, community engagement strategies, and approaches for supporting families as they adapt to life in Canada while maintaining healthy family relationships.
By completing this training, participants will be better prepared to contribute to community wellbeing and help families build confidence, resilience, and stronger connections.

Atelier Entrepreneurial

Centre Maranata, in partnership with Collège Boréal through the Propulseur Boréal initiative, invites aspiring entrepreneurs to participate in the Atelier Entrepreneurial, an interactive workshop designed to support individuals interested in starting or growing a business in Windsor-Essex.
This informative session will provide participants with practical guidance on the key steps involved in launching a successful business in Ontario. Whether you are developing a new idea or looking to expand an existing project, this workshop offers valuable tools and resources to help you move forward with confidence.
Participants will explore essential topics including business planning, marketing and client development, funding opportunities, entrepreneurial leadership, innovation, and the use of digital tools to support long-term growth.
The workshop is open to women entrepreneurs, young entrepreneurs, newcomers to Canada, and anyone with an interest in building a business or transforming an idea into a sustainable venture.
Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with experienced professionals, learn about local entrepreneurial resources, and engage with other members of the community who share similar goals and aspirations.
Participants may attend either in person at the Collège Boréal – Forest Glade Campus or join remotely through the virtual Zoom option.

Coffee Tasting Fundraiser

On Saturday, June 13, 2026, Centre Maranata successfully hosted its Coffee Tasting Fundraiser at Kufiya House Café in Windsor, bringing together community members, supporters, and local partners for an afternoon of connection, generosity, and community engagement.
The fundraiser provided guests with the opportunity to enjoy a unique coffee-tasting experience while learning more about Centre Maranata’s mission and the impact of its programs and initiatives throughout Windsor-Essex.
Attendees gathered to share meaningful conversations, strengthen community connections, and support initiatives that empower individuals and families across the region. The welcoming atmosphere encouraged participants to connect with one another while contributing to a shared vision of building a stronger and more caring community.

Centre Maranata Empowers Emerging Entrepreneurs Through Business Development Workshop

Centre Maranata proudly hosted the workshop "Transform an Idea into a Project: From Passion to Impact", bringing together 40 aspiring entrepreneurs, community leaders, and changemakers from Windsor-Essex for an engaging and inspiring afternoon of learning and networking.
Held at Centre Maranata's office on Walker Road, the workshop focused on helping participants transform their ideas into structured and impactful projects. Whether interested in launching a business, developing a community initiative, or turning a passion into a sustainable venture, participants gained practical tools and knowledge to move their ideas forward with confidence.
Participants explored key steps such as identifying stages of development, validating ideas, building value propositions, understanding planning strategies, and developing confidence to take action.
The session emphasized that successful entrepreneurship begins when passion is combined with structure and planning. Through interactive discussions and collaboration, participants strengthened their ability to turn ideas into reality.
In addition to learning, the event provided strong networking opportunities, allowing participants to connect, share experiences, and build relationships for future collaboration and growth.

Foster & Adoption Information Session

On Saturday, May 2, 2026, Centre Maranata, in partnership with the Windsor-Essex Children’s Aid Society (CAS), successfully hosted a Foster and Adoption Information Session with more than 30 participants in attendance.
The session provided valuable information about foster care, adoption, and the important role families can play in supporting vulnerable children within the community.
Participants had the opportunity to ask questions, learn about the fostering and adoption process, and engage in meaningful discussions with CAS representatives in a welcoming and supportive environment.
We are grateful to everyone who attended and contributed to the success of this impactful community event.

Ubuntu Family Economic Empowerment Program Launch

On Saturday, April 18, 2026, Centre Maranata proudly launched the Ubuntu Family Economic Empowerment Program, generously funded by the Foundation for Black Communities.
The event was a great success, welcoming more than 50 participants from the community who gathered to learn about entrepreneurship, business registration, and economic empowerment opportunities for newcomer and Black families.
Participants engaged in meaningful discussions, received valuable information on starting and growing businesses, and connected with community members in a supportive and empowering environment.
This launch marked an important step toward strengthening financial independence, promoting entrepreneurship, and creating long-term opportunities within our community.

Income Tax & Financial Workshop

On March 21, 2026, Centre Maranata successfully hosted an Income Tax and Financial Workshop for parents and caregivers, welcoming more than 35 participants from the community.
The session provided valuable information on income tax filing, financial literacy, budgeting, and available financial benefits and resources for families.
Participants actively engaged in discussions, asked important questions, and gained practical knowledge to help strengthen their financial well-being and confidence.
The event created a supportive and informative space where families were empowered with tools to better navigate their financial responsibilities and plan for a stronger future.

Parenting Information Session – Foster Care Awareness
January 24, 2026
On January 24, 2026, Centre Maranata, in partnership with the Windsor-Essex Children’s Aid Society (CAS), successfully hosted a Parenting Information Session on Foster Care Awareness at Centre Maranata’s office in Windsor, Ontario.
The event welcomed more than 30 participants in person and over 40 participants on Zoom, making it a great success.
Community members gained valuable information about foster families, child wellbeing, and the important role families and communities play in supporting vulnerable children.
The session created an open and supportive environment where participants were able to learn, ask questions, and engage in meaningful discussions.

Positive Parenting Styles Workshop

The session created a welcoming and empowering space where parents openly shared experiences, gained practical parenting strategies, and built meaningful connections within the community.
Participants engaged in rich discussions focused on parenting with confidence, care, patience, and understanding. The strong attendance demonstrated the growing need for supportive parenting spaces among newcomer and diverse families.
